The Burning of Black Churches
In 2001, Caldwell became the spiritual advisor to President George W. Bush and delivered the official benedictions at his swearing-in ceremony. A few years later in 2008, he officiated Bush's daughter's wedding and more importantly, even became thespiritual advisor to Barack Obama as well. In spite of this, Caldwell was put under a magnifying glass again for a very different reason: His church had a ministry that was intended to help people struggling to overcome homosexuality.
