I was speechless. That means I was so surprised or so scared that I couldn't speak. Chuffed just means very happy, very pleased. Gutted is when you're really disappointed and down in the dumps. There's more than meets the eye - there's more to a person than first impression. A laughing stock is basically something that everybody is laughing at them in a bad way. The inner strength is like being bold as brass; if you're confident it means you're overconfident. You shouldn't judge books by their cover because they are written on the inside.
