Bond Trading at Crazy Levels
The Bank of Japan a number of months ago had declared that they were going to hold their 10 year rates at a certain level, which was to 0.25%. Everybody else in the world is raising rates and Japan is holding theirs like just barely over water,. So there's tremendous pressure that builds up as people are selling all of these treasuries and there's nobody to buy them. The market eventually becomes pretty illiquid and the Bank of Japan has to step in and buy just about every single bond that's being sold on the open market.
