The Importance of Language in the Modern World

Foucault, Derrida popularized the idea of that there is no reality beyond the language we choose to express our world. This notion was so sort of built in, it was almost a kind of dogma. I remember going to conferences and things and people would just cite Foucault uncritically as though he was " deity figure" The idea has these origins in academia, even though many of the people perpetuating it don't know about those origins.
