The Rise of Businesses Taking Stands on Social Issues

Businesses are taking stances on social issues, which I believe is something fairly new that we're seeing emerge. It feels like companies are really being held accountable for the positions they take or the stances they take on some of these social issues. Chick-fil-A has famously good customer service and famously good food but also takes a very clear stance on being against gay marriage. The same thing with Oreos, right?Oreos recently took a pro stance for gay marriage. And there was again this schism about whether to purchase Oreos because of the company’s stance.
