August Metcowlin: I think culturally it's so much more accepted for guys with fathers to leave than it is for mothers. He says that romanticized idea being a parent and adventurer was enabled by like old fashioned cultural ideas of the mother just taking care of everything even when their home quote unquote between adventures. "That romanticized aspect of it is actually quite false when you really look at it," he adds.
