Naked morrits have very high levels of beta amaloid and tar protein. This was maintained at that very high level, three times the level of a triple transgenic alsimes model mouse. They had high levels of towel, but it seemed to be a heavier molecular weight than what you see in humans and in mice. So the morat are again challenging the dogmas there with alsheimes research in many ways.
Rochelle Buffenstein is one of the world’s leading authorities on the naked mole rat, a fascinating animal that has emerged as an important model for research in longevity science. Dr. Buffenstein is currently a senior principal investigator at Calico Life Sciences, a subsidiary of Alphabet, that is seeking to better understand the biology that controls aging and lifespan.
