How to Measure the Accuracy of Your Research
There is certainly a process to go from research to implementation. How big of a step that is, I think depends on what I mentioned earlier about holding period. So if it is a lower frequency strategy and execution is not terribly important, then maybe the language that you did the research in maybe eating or Python or MATLAB is good enough. But if you're going for higher frequency, then something like R is probably not going to be fast enough. And so you have to either link it to something like C++ or give your code to a financial engineer to code it up in something like Cppl.
