Persistent Pain and Misconceptions
I think a recommendation that I would always try and get across to people is to always see pain as an experience. And if you're thinking about what experience are you going to give that person, how are your words and actions going to impact on that person's experience? We're in an ideal situation really. We can either contribute to negative experiences, to maladaptive experiences, or we can change that. Hopefully we've discussed some of that. There's 40 years of empirical evidence looking at the biopsychosocial model and its influence on practice. It's not just seeing it as happy thoughts, you know, thinking happy thoughts will make me feel better. It's more than that
