The History of the Kingdom of Madagascar

The queen of Madagascar executed 20 to 30,000 people a year. The army would be sent on repeated expeditions into these neighboring provinces and would exact harsh penalties against anyone that resisted. Those who were spared were usually brought back as slaves. Over the course of her rule, approximately a million slaves would enter a marina from the coastal areas over the course of 1820 to 1853.
