What Happened to the Arabs in Syria?

In the months after the british handed syria over to the french, it's just chaos. Cially in the border region between the two zones, you know, northern palestine and that border with lebanon and southern syria on the french side,. It's just chaos to the point that it gets very difficult to even keep up with everything that’s going on. And i always think that if anything in any historical story is confusing for me, then i can't imagine how people who were trying to sort out everything that was going on on the ground back then.
