Is Patreon a Good Way to Make Money?

Almost everything I enjoy now, um, from independent creators. Is behind a paywall and some of it is, I understand. But then there is the gross thing of how many people have done the $1 for your Kickstarter,. It makes it more popular. Even shows that are on bigger networks, that becomes a possible ad revenue because they know that you have built in listeners.
