There are behaviors that are inherently good or bad, but these various coping behaviors are generally motivated toward positive ends. It can be a little dangerous to frame one of them as inherently superior to the other. What is healthy avoidance for one person may be unnecessary and therefore unhealthy avoidance for another person. When we avoid, we're not so engaged with reality. We're up dating our information stores about the way the world really is.
