The sinosphere is a framework for understanding the cultural and textural interactions between china and japan. The term was coined by Matthew Clark, who has been working on this project with his colleague at Harvard University, Josh Shashank. It refers to cultures that have in east asia all used similar languages to write in before vernaculars were invented.
