The Origins of Goths
We have no gothic account of it. We know the nature of the expeditions. The Roman sources tell you that incidentally, they don't deliberately sort of set about describing Goths. But it's quite clear we're not looking at essentially directed mass movement under one king. While it was potentially dangerous to live near the frontier, you came in occasionally for Roman counter-action. Nonetheless, it was extremely profitable in all kinds of ways.
