Two days after his death, Jackie walked behind her husband's coffin. Despite warnings and frankly pleading from the Secret Service, Lyndon Baines Johnson followed her. There was a riderless horse as well with boots facing backwards in the stirrups. It's supposed to represent the departed man looking back at his men for the last time. Alexander Hamilton was actually the very first American to be given this honor.
