The potential for improvement gains is so huge, but it's not actually a high volume of hard work. You're talking about hill strides, which might be 15 or 20 seconds. These are not long repetitions that we're used to. Studies do find that it essentially mirrors your plyometric power. So it is a good proxy for that.
