CNN's John Sutter is taking a trip around the Americas. He and his crew are doing marine plastic research in the Pacific Ocean. They're going to stop on land for parts of their trip, but it won't be as long as they'd like. The journey started with Senator Tom Harkin asking if he could take them round the world by boat.
