The Death of Adeléed
Tobias' uncle Adeléed moved up to the Alps as an enmity with a god and man. Only a few weeks after Tobias's death, they buried poorAdeléed. People said that heaven had punished the uncle for his misdeeds. The family whose work I had done last year came from Frankfurt and resolved to take me to their townhouse. Here lived Peter the goat herd, a boy of 11 years old who daily fetched the goats from the village and drove them up the mountainside.
