Vladimir spiridonovitch went back to the village after the revolution. In the cities, there was famine in the cities, and not just violence, but also hunger. Millions of people died from hunger in the aftermarch of the revolution. It's unclear how he ended up in gorki laninsky - it is not super hard to imagine. But why didn't he bring his family with him? Well, that's a different question either.
