The Unique Situation of the People of Israel
The people of Israel were willing to chase down those false gods. The real God has the only people that has turned away from him and turned towards false gods. Jeremiah says, gosh, in his verse eight, the priests did not say, where's the Lord? And those who handled the law did not know me. rulers transressed against me, prophets prophesied by Baal and went after things that do not profit. So be appalled to heavens at this and be utterly desolate.
