Is Grant Funding a Universal Truth?
Yogeng Zhang was the first person in China to sequence SARS-CoV-2. He worked with Wuhan Central Hospital on a project screening people for acute respiratory disease and ammonia. When outbreak started, he contacted hospital staff saying, we have your samples I want to sequence them. And so they were sent from Shanghai at that point - January 3rd 2020. So by complete chance, we're in the right hospital using the right technique on the right tissue samples on the right syndrome.
