Matthew is going to have this little section about the garment That seems kind of random at the end of the parable, like you read it. He's like, okay, he finally got all the losers into his banquet And then all of a sudden he goes, why are you wearing those clothes? The clothes were actually people who were taking discipleship casually, or taking their life casually and so another way of thinking about it But immediately following this in the parable,. now large crowds were going along with him and he turned and said to them that they cannot be my disciple Whoever does not carry his own cross and then a little bit lower says no one can be my disciple who doesn't give
