Five was chanel's lucky number. She had a thing about the number five that it was really important to her. Whether or not that led her into smelling the fifth one, again, that's the one we don't know. But yes, so when perfumers work for whoever they're creating the fragrance for, they will submit a number of different variations of that fragrance for them to smell and to narrow down. They won't have names. We have no idea what the others smelled like, just that number five was the one that she smelt and went, that’s the one.
