It's all about the attention that we give whatever we're manipulating, whether it's paper or digital. We need to be cautious upfront and decide, does this need to live with me permanently? You know, when I'm talking about papers, for example, or digital files, everything is either related to action or reference. And if it's action, it needs to be immediately accessible and sort of in your face because it's going to trigger you to do something. If it's reference, it doesn't need to be catching your attention, it can be neatly filed away. But it has to be done in a thoughtful way.
