There's one principle in practice which, if you can internalize now, will be of tremendous help to you for the three months. It's not true that pleasant is good and painful is bad. That conditioning is so strong in our minds. We keep thinking that if we're having a pleasant experience, that's good. And when it's painful or unpleasant, we have this deep condition to think that that's bad and we're not doing well. If we can bring that attitude to the practice, then there's a tremendous willingness to be with whatever comes in the course of the day. Sometimes it's pleasant, sometimes it's unpleasant. The art of meditation is the ability to open to
