I was taught growing up that not being religious, you still are bound to worship other things. Maybe I do like evangelize queerness now in the same way I used to evangelize Christianity. But I don't think that the position of not knowing is one of neutrality. It really actively drives me. Every year was sent to this horrific evangelical Christian camp which has recently been uncovered as a child sex ring. This was a place where they were very much training young girls and boys,. at least assumed to be girls and boys, to be an incredibly gendered roles based on a science expert birth. And purity culture was, yeah, it felt a immense amount of shame around anything related to sexuality
