Would You Wait Outside a Pub?
I don't know if that's a part of being British. It indicates a bit of all social awkwardness and uncomfinance. So I guess that could be quite British. Do you see other people waiting outside? If it's like a little cozy pub, then yes. But with big busy venues, you might see them waiting because they don't want to interrupt the flow of conversation. Most people would just go in and then get a drink and then wait for their friend.
