How Effective Is the Delta Vaccine?
There's this perception now that the vaccines are not great at preventing infection, because there's a lot of talk about breakthrough cases. And yes, breakthrough cases are going to happen. But the vaccines are still highly effective against infection of any kind. I mean, 80 % protection against infection outright, particularly in the presence of delta,. which we know now has up to a thousandfold higher viral load.
