Vulcan Energy's Zero Carbon Lithium Mining
Vulcan Energy is looking at tapping geothermal energy to extract lithium from underground brine. The process would drastically reduce water loss compared with the mining operations in South America's lithium triangle. In total, geologists estimate that the upper Rhine Valley contains enough lithium for more than 400 million electric cars.
