Long Island Serial Killer
The so-called Long Island serial killer was first identified in November of 2011, when the remains of an unidentified toddler were found. In December 2015, FBI agents joined local police to help with the investigation after it emerged that former police commissioner James Burke had been blocking federal involvement for years. The case has since come under renewed scrutiny as genetic genealogy tests are being carried out on some of the victims and possibly the suspect himself. Police have also released images of a belt they believe may be linked to the crime scene but would not say where or what its location is.
