The Impact of Climate Change on Flood Risk in the UK

New flood risk maps give a level of detail about this country that we haven't had before. Areas where current Met Office projections show rainfall is going to increase most are in areas with heavy populations such as South Wales, South East England and North West England. Conversely, there's a whole swathe of the country which don't see very much increase in flood risk at all if the globe meets its COP26 carbon reduction pledges. If we hit a 2.5 degree world, expected average annual damage in the UK goes up by 13%, and if we hit 3.3 degrees, then we can see risks of 20%.
