The Importance of Positioning
The first thing we have to do is level set on what are we actually talking about here. It's so bad that whenever I have a conversation about positioning I have to kind of start by saying what positioning is not. Positioning in my mind defines how your product is uniquely suited to provide something that a well-defined set of buyers cares a lot about. So put another way positioning defines who my competitive comparables are, what my differentiators are and then the market category itself that I intend to win.
