Are You a Reporter?
I think generally speaking, people in the intelligence community are pretty adept at having discrete conversations and knowing how to transmit information. So to some degree, you sort of follow their lead and let them engage in the conversation in the way that makes them comfortable. It's always incumbent upon a reporter, though, if you are dealing with somebody, any source, who might be naive about those risks that they're taking. And do you ever think about that? I mean, we're talking about very consequential things, aren't we? We're talking about war and peace and sometimes life and death.
