Proof of Work in Bitcoin Is a Necessity
Bitcoin is more than just a communication network, it's also the brain of humanity. And we still don't know what that intends to be - like electricity or fire. We will probably continue to explore those four areas: payments, privacy, personhood and power. If you remove this power from any aditinal thing, it will be untethered to the real world. The one thing that anchors pit coin in our reality is the energy used in mining. So proof of workis absolutely essential.
