The Relationship Between Democracy and Infant Mortality
When it comes to infant mortality more specifically it also matters how you think about democracy, and these measures that we have been using tend to put very kind of strong demands on on on on a regime for being called relatively democratic. So once we measure democracy in this more demanding way so electoral competition taking into account all the ways that this competition can be manipulated we tend to find a stronger relationship. But also take into account that these low-quality democracies but which may still be considered in the democratic camp may make it very different results from other countries.
