The Counterreformation - Donna Teresa
She lived at a time of major political and religious upheaval. The counterreformation. She founds her first monastery in 1562, just before the Council of Trent N. This is the time when the index of prohibited books was created to monitor what good Catholics can or cannot read. And she does view herself self-conscious as a reformer,. that she can seek reform through her example by setting an example for others.
