Code Is Much Better Than Code
I think as an instrument of transparency I think code is much better than a spreadsheet but you don't just need to think about the number of people that are impacted by this transparency. In general most researchers hate publishing their code because they think it looks bad which is sometimes does and so we should cultivate a culture of making it okay to publish code even if it's not like the most beautiful piece of code in the world. Some kind of software that would provide both a spreadsheet view of things with the underlying code behind it for people who want to write to read the code would be extremely good.
