The Limits of Sharing in a Digital World
We have a natural repulsion against death, as you can imagine. There's a book by Ernest Becker called The Denial of Death. He points out that we all have a repulsion of death. So in subconscious way, we're all trying to cheat the longevity of life. We buy things and make them thinking they will outlive us. But on other levels, it's things that we think are going to outlived us. It's not just death - loss aversion is also present for money or loved ones. And there's such complexities to unravel with our digital devices now.
