Jesus foretells Peter's denial. Simon Peter said to him, Lord, Where are you going? Jesus: "Where I am going, you cannot follow me now, but you shall follow afterward" He who believes in me will also do the works that I have; greater works than these will he do because I go to the Father. If a man loves me, he will keep my word and my Father will love him as well. The cock will not crow till you have denied me three times.
