The word itself is pejorative in a way. For many people, especially in the Christian tradition, calling on spirits like pagan gods or demons to do things for you is really problematic from a faith perspective. So their version of doing it only on being informed by my spirit guys, this, well, only blood I think it's called wash. It's attributed to our own innate non local, and I'll often say spiritual capabilities that we as humans by definition have, by her entity have by whatever. But there isn't anything about dowsing that inherently involves spirits is there.
