Belivar's Invasion of Venezuela
The victory at cucuta pretty much ended any invasion threat posed by monteverde. As a reward for his service, belevar was promoted to brigadier general. Belivar now wanted to take his army east, into venezuela. And he sent his uncle, jose felix ribos, to confer with the new granadan leadership in tunha to make them sanction this inva of v Venezuela. It took some cajoling, but finally the new Granadan leadership agreed to sanction belivar's invasion. But he was only supposed to go as far as the city of truhio, which was not quite half way between cucuta and caracas
