The Treaty of Kadesh
Treaty between Egypt and the Hittites was agreed in 1258 BCE. It pledged that both parties would not battle again for Levantine lands. This alone suggests that the losses at the Battle of Kadesh must have been high. A copy of the Hittite version written in cuneiform was presented as a gift from the Turkish government to the United Nations. The replica is now mounted on the walls of the United Nations headquarters based in New York.
