How to Mobilize Secretions to Reduce the Duration of Hospitalization

Roxanne Jones: mobilization is first, humidification is second. When you have secretions that have been trickling down there for days, weeks, whatever, they start getting dried out thick and nasty. She says no matter whether the person had asthma or not, this probably doesn't work because I'll just do it because I don't think it works. Jones: So your metanib type things, be more optimistic about them if you're doing them in a tracheostomy patient versus a patient where you're just trying to clear their airways.
