The Monroe Doctrine

There is a way in which sort of the baton is kind of transferred almost gradually. I mean, if ou go back to the nineteenth century, americans have this thing called the monroe doctrine. It was basically what was written by john quincy adams,. But it was at the inspiration of canning. And so there's like the sort of the deep kind of social connections there that kind of make that a kind of gradual baton transfer.
