A JTAC is a joint terminal air controller, otherwise known as a forward air controller in many countries. Their job is to direct close air support in combat situations from a forward position. "We flew the perimeter of the Fort McMurray fire and we flew it every night and we marked all the hotspots," he says. 'It really felt good'
