The Mycenaean Temple of Artemis
The final two sanctuaries of Artemis that we will discuss today are at Delos and Ephesus, both of which put forward competing claims to be the birthplace of the goddess. As many as five garments at a time were worn by these images, a practice that allowed worshippers to feel that they had achieved the closest possible contact with the goddess.
