At just 18 years old he got a job as a car checker on the Michigan Central Railroad for $40 a month. He was fired and found he didn't like failing one bit. Still stinging from his short-lived career entered a local business college to study bookkeeping. By 1890 he'd run out of patients with business school and went to Detroit where at 19 he became head of the freight office. Ford finds his greatest asset is this guy named James Cousins.
