Edison's Laboratory Accident

One account of Edison being rattled by a lab accident was out in the field when he first installed his first Pearl Street dynamo station. He wanted to see what would happen if he rigged together two of the dynamos to see if it would operate just as efficiently more just he didn't really know what was going to happen. And with them operating at double speed and overheating the floor was melting and the building was shaking. It genuinely felt like the whole building was about to come down.
