I was sent over to with Patricia Hewitt, who was the then Trade and Industry Secretary. I ended up getting sent out by myself in advance and it was the most terrifying experience of my life. But what was interesting is even though there was a lot of talk about very lucrative reconstruction contracts,. There were loads of security companies going out there and things like that. So there's definitely a commercial imperative. And I think people have been very anxious to expose just what a vane glorious idea it was that we could ever impose democracy on a country like Iraq.
